Broughton’s Flare was a respectable 15th of 28 runners in the annual October Auction Sales race at Newmarket on Saturday. The race run over 6F featuring horses predominantly purchased in Books 3 & 4 at Tattersalls gives owners and trainers a good opportunity to claim some of the £150K prize money and this year it was Trainer Julie Camacho and connections of Lorton who claimed the £81K first prize beating off Time for Bed by 1/2L with Gypsy Spirit a length back 3rd.

Broughton’s Flare was drawn well on the stand side which featured the first four but was beaten by 10L on ground which was on the soft side of good and probably not her favoured surface.
