Team McBride were back in action on Tuesday evening with Camachess making a welcome return after a 122 day break. Having won 5 on the spin she needed a break after finishing down the field at Newmarket in June and tonight she needed this run to get her in shape for an autumn campaign. In this CL4 0-85 6F handicap she was drawn wide, so dropped in at the rear of the field of 11. Ridden by Rob Hornby she was pushed on as they turned for home but was never close and weakened to finish         6 1/2L 8th behind Total Commitment. The winner never threatened in the final furlong holding 1 3/4L to Thegreatestshowman with 2/1F Revolutionise 3/4L 3rd. Camachess will strip fitter next time.

Earlier, Cheerful featured in Div 2 of a CL6 mile handicap and she was unable to build on her 4th placed run at Leicester over 7F this time. Not helped by another wide draw (11) she was away and in whilst towards the rear, in touch with the leaders headed by N over J.  However, she was never any closer although asked 2 from home, finishing 14 1/2L 8th of 12 behind Mabo, who, under Rosa Ryan burst through from mid division to win by a length from Gerry the Glover, with A Hundred Echoes a head 3rd.
