Thair’s first run under Team McBride effectively ended within the seconds of the start at the start in the CL6 Mile at Chelmsford on Thursday. The veteran 9yo gelding by New Approach joined the yard at the start of the month and connections will have learnt nothing from this run.

Under Jockey Danny Brock he fell out of the gate and in a messy start with Cash N Carrie from the stall beside him (6), both collided and the race had left both of them with Thai’r 7 1/4L 11th of 13 runners having never been in any position to challenge.

For the record 25/1 shot Nicky Baby made all and to win comfortably by 1 1/4L from Imperial Act with Casey Banter 3rd. Thai’r is not entered to run at Wolverhampton on Tuesday.
